The seat differnces on the f4i
hi... im thinking about getting an f4i as my first bike.... and i realy want a real world orieinted bike... not track... id like to commute on it for about 30min-1hr a day... and once in a while take couple hour trips on it...
anyways.... iv been looking around ebay... and i notice... 2 diffennt types of seats on the f4i , one is a single peice seat.. and the other is a 1 peice seat...
i would like to know which model or year... or w.e offers which one...
and which one is the confortable one?

while im making this thread... id also like to know... how this bike fits riders of my build.. im 6'2 190lbs does your wrists and back hurt alot?

they are the same other then the seat, and tail light and a few little things but the bike it'self is the same
i'v had both seats and the banana seat is WAAY more comfortable

they use different subframes, so to put a banana seat on an 01-03 (or vice versa) you'd have to get a subframe to match
if your just looking for comfort and had an 01-03 it would probably be much cheaper to buy a more comfortable stock replacement seat like a Corbin

I think I heard that the 2003 F4i's were detuned to make room for the 600rr which was introduced that year. If you're looking for a split-seat F4i, go for a low mileage 01 or 02. Between those years, I think the only difference is color choices.

so you are saying it is cheaper to get the split seat model... and then add a corbin to it?... it will be the same confort as the bananna stock seat in the newer models?
