Default Seat care?

Hey guys, I've been searching all over the internet but haven't gotten much input so I decided to create a thread. I was wondering what steps do you guys take to clean or "maintain" your seat / rear seat? I don't want my seat getting faded or torn. I would use some sort of fancy leather conditioner but I don't want my seat to become to slippery and uncomfortable.

I recovered my seat on my CBR F3 a year or so ago. It is always parked outside, and it has been holding up just great with zero maintenance. Most of the seat cover material used these days is marine grade stuff, so it has UV protection built in, is durable, and is designed to last a long time without any cleaning or work on your part. At least, that's my understanding. Any one else with more experience is welcome to chime in.

You guys don't use any conditioner to help prevent fading? What do you clean it with? Just water?

I've always just cleaned mine with the car wash soap i use on the rest of the bike and after YEARS when the seat fades or tears ( i've always had em tear first) i just get a new cover and replace it.

haha sounds good, i've seen a bunch of f4i's with shiney seats and mine looks dull. (not nasty dull but not as shiney as the other f4i's)

I have some fabric left over from my recover project. It looks like carbon fiber (kinda). Check the pic in my profile, pm me if your interested.

When it fades or rips, just recover it. But I wouldn't worry about it too much.
