Plate bolts are for plate lights, not signals, but that is a good idea though.

Whats the caulk for though? hmm...

Ha, good eye.

It was for a leaky pipe that got fixed in the house the other day. I conscripted it as a plastic-weight to hold down the sheet of plastic I put under the bike so I didn't get any paint on the garage floor.

Well I used a dremel with a simple dremel cutter bit (not wheel)..not the most ideal tool but it got the job done. I kept the stock 80's rear signals but man those HAVE to go (maybe tomorrow when its light out). Can I simply uninstall the lamp and housing and snip the wires and tuck them? This will not affect anything electrically correct?

I've got a small problem...and I do not believe it is due to anything I've done today...in the rear keylock..my key will turn and i hear it clicking and working but my passenger seat will not come off!!! I turn the key and it looks/feels like its working but its almost like a rag or my plastic insurance card sleeve inside is stuck in the hook/latch not allowing the seat to come off..Ive banged on it from the top and underside numerous times and nothings working!! Any ideas?

You can just unplug the rear signals from the harness under the seat. Then you can just unbolt the signals and pull the wires out whole.

You might have just locked the seat down wrong. I've had that happen. I just had to turn the key and tug on the seat. Can you see if they lock is actually disengaging under the seat? Like by lifting up the back?

I tried everything! The lock turns and it feels perfect, the seat just dosent budge. Its like the latch on the inside is stuck on something (possibly a rag or something I have in there?) I was literally yanking on the seat while turning the key and also banged on the underside and top to try and jar things and still no budge

the cable most likely came off of the lock at the top, take your driver seat off and shove your hand up along the left side of the bike towards the tail, if your hands are small enough you will be able to reach back in their and grab the sliding lock mechanism to unlock it and pull the seat off.

Hard to explain but just reach way back in their and feel around.

There was a guy on the forum awhile back that had the same problem. He took off the front seat & used a coat-hanger thru the hole to pull the cable to unlock the rear seat.
