Well now according to your diagram, if thats correct, I installed the cam chain tensioner lifter. I saw, and held, the part I ordered before I took it in for service. Sorry, if im screwing you guys up but.....I ordered the cam chain tensioner, the service tech at honda told me it was the cam chain tensioner, and once again my service receipt (from honda) says replacement of cam chain tensioner. Since the controversy continues....I ordered the part from the above diagram that is circled in RED[:@]. What ever the hell its called, thats what was installed, now the bike is running great with no more noise.

hey, the way I see it, you had a problem, you replaced a part, and now it works. As long as your bike is running well, that's all that matters right? Glad to hear everyting worked out nicely for you though! Unfortunately this summer I think I'm going to have to look into the noise on my own bike, and see if something needs to be addressed

The price of the part is standard, it was about $55. I got the service done at Rick Case Honda, Broward County FL, and the total was $150 for the service. I didnt think going to Honda would be the best but I called a few other places and they wanted at least $200 to install it. I called Riva Motorsports, also Broward County, and they wanted $350 just to install it. So I paid about $210 for the part and the labor. I think I got a good deal. If anyone else had this done, what did you pay.

Damn im confused! [:@]"I ordered this. Its definately this." "The part i held, was definately circled in red." "I orderedthe part in green." "The part on the receipt says i ordered the red one, the cct." ....Correct me if im wrong. this is what i get from it:

You 'ordered' the CCT...The reciept said CCT...The part you held was NOT the CCT, it was infact CCTL. THEREFORE, the noise we ALL seem to be hearing, including myself, is from the CCTL!...right?

Yeah I ordered the CCT, but if the diagram is correct, I got the CCTL. If your getting the rattle like I was then I guess the correct part is the CCTL.

Going by the diagram......I installed the CCTL which fixed my problem.

Perhaps we should get a sticky for this post:

I'll be the first to admit, when I first learned of the whole debate dealing with the CCT/CCTL, I was definitely confused, and did not realize there was a difference. Once I looked into what Tahoe was saying, I realized he was right as rain. I know this definitely cleared up things for me. Maybe it will help others so that we all are on the same page when we use terminology (I'm definitely guilty of not stating things correctly and clearly all the time) It finally makes sense to me why each part is called what it is lol
