Default Rear shock spring color

I just wondered if there was any difference in the rear shock springs of different colors. Most all the pics I've seen show a yellow spring, but mine is red? Set up for a different weight maybe?

Red = FAIL! But mine's yellow. I was debating on painting it, but I can't decide on a color.

My Eibach spring is red. Yours has probably been changed.

The red spring is supposedly a different spring rate(though i cant find the rates I had found before). It was used on the f4 and f3, possibly older 600f's aswell but those 2 im sure of. The yellow was used on the f4i's. I swapped a complete shock from an f4i to my f4. If you do that though you have to use the top mount that comes with whichever bike you have, as the top mount is different on the f4 & f4i.

Mine is a 2001 F4i. It's a showa with a remote reservoir and a red spring. Not painted red. I'll check it and see if it's marked for a spring rate or something tomorrow.
