Rear brake issue after installing new brake pads

I think you may be right. I tried cleaning the piston and surrounding area, but I just used a cloth... and not a proper brake cleaner or fluid. I think the bike may have had the original pads and fluid since the year it was built (2003). I bought it used a few years ago, and it was the first time I've changed 'em while I've had it.

I haven't been to a track with my bike, but I do use the rear brake in normal street riding. Keeps the bike stable in a straight line, and is plenty of braking in normal traffic.

Plus, with the newer Honda CBR bikes, its combined braking and ABS.

very nice, tbh, and not noticeable, but the bike just stops well.

Not to mention the rear brake is no where near enough braking for any situation and not every new model has ABS like he implies.
