Default Quick Oil Change Question

I just changed the oil on my f4i and it wasnt too bad the oil filter was a bitch to get off but I used a K&N with the nut on the end so I wont have to fight with it next time. My question is I put 3.5 quarts of Mobile 1 4 stroke in there and when I stand my bike straight up the oil is at the VERY top on the little window on the side. Like if i move the bike side to side you can see the oil line. She seems to run WAY better and alittle cooler(It was way over due, the ****s at the dealer said they just change it right before I bought her... That was some of the blackest oil ive seen and ive been doing oil changes for years) Is that too much oil? Should I drain alittle? I know its suppose to be between the two lines but will it hurt it

Also is it normal when you turn the key that the oil light flashes? It goes off as soon as I start it. I can't remember.

Thanks everybody!

i know plenty of ppl that run a little over where you're at just for wheelie purposes and such. shouldnt hurt it at all.

its not gonna hurt any gaskets if its at the max line....thats y there's a max line....ive heard of stunters filling a liter over the max line, but when u have both wheels on the ground, isnt that gonna aerate (idk how to spell it) the oil pan and/or blow a seal?

did you remove the fairing for to change the oil filter? I am reading some of the threads on oil changes, it seems most people don't have issue to remove the filter with the fairing on. wondering if it's still necessary to remove the fairing..

You should only have to remove the plastic piece right behind the front tire but if your good and figure out a way to catch the oil you dont even have to remove that. I had to remove one of the side fairings jus bc the last guy put on the oil filter sooo tight i needed a better angle. Even then the fairing is only held on by like 5 or 6 screws, takes 2min to take off.

Thanks everybody for the replys I just wanted to make sure it was ok. Im prolly guna change it again in the next 4-5weeks before winter storage.
