Yeah, when activated they blink, and when you cancel the signal they just turn off. The ones I got from e-Bay ($20) came with directions, but the install is very basic; self-explanatory. Just don't do the connections half-assed, go to Radio Shack, buy some quality wire connectors and do it right.
I almost forgot, you have to remove the upper cowl/fairing in order to do this. That's actually the hardest part of the project.

I installed my hotbodies signals in about 20 minutes, I didn't take any fairings at all off or anything, just have to undo a couple screws

Yeah...removing the upper cowl is completely unnecessary. I just took the side fairings off, and loosened the plastic in the wheel well in order to get behind the front cowl. Dont make it harder than it has to be...also, I wouldnt recommend JUST using double sided tape to mount them. Mine came with both double sided tape and a screw/bolt set up to mount them.

Sorry, my bad Guess I rather take the extra 5 min. to take it off than to work in a cramped space ~
Either way, it's all good...

Thanks fellas...having running lights isn't the end of the world so i'll skip using didodes to compensate for the uneven ratio.

$15 and I'll make the diode connections for you, you just have to crimp the wires together.

Hell, I'll even put a resistor in there so the running lights are dimmer.
