pros/cons of flushmounts
 

hey guys, just looking for some input on flushmount turn signals. obviously a clear pro is the look, but it is worth giving up visibility to oncoming traffic? I did some looking around on ebay and came across these http://www.d2moto.com/Items/LTS001-Clear-h they look like they may offer more visibility due to their size. anyways any input you guys have would be great, thanks.

If you want the best of both worlds, save up some cash and buy a serious set of signals. Proton, Gregs, etc.

pros:
youre bike doesnt look like it has alien antlers coming out
cheap
looks 100x better
if you park your bike close to a wall, you dont have to worry about cracking one of your lights

Did you just say a con to flushmounts was visibility of on coming traffic? BWahahaa, not sure what perfect world you live in, but cagers don't see us! Ok, my rants over, I feel better. LOL

turn signals are only good to notify the people behind you

You may want to get a nice set of flushmounts that are made FOR the F4i. Since the mounting area for the front signals is recessed into the fairing a bit you want to get ones that fit into that recession perfectly, that way they look clean and factory-fit. Otherwise they wont fit right and probably look like crap. I can take some close-up pics of mine so you can see what I am talking about...if you would like.

I did consider that Aken, just not in the cards right now (HID kit on the way instead)

I know that regardless what your lighting looks like you have to assume they dont see you, and more of then than not they dont, but obviously the stock signals are clearly more visible than a little dot (essentially) on the side of the bike..

Uniq, that would be great if you could throw a few pics up...what brand did you go with?

The universal con will be visibility. I have Greggs in the front and, unless it's dark, on-coming traffic will likely not see them. If you are in a traffic situation, you will have to compensate with hand signals. Safety aside....they look badass and really give it a sleep appearance, especially when coupled with a undertail and/or fender eliminator

These are not the ones I have, but you want something like these...they should fit your recessions in the fairings well. I believe mine were made for the RR and the F4i.
