you place playdoh on the inside of the fairing and screw in the engine bolt. place the fairing back on and the bolt head should make in impression on the playdoh. This gives u an idea of where to cut to install cut sliders.

I dunno why the person who replied before you brought it up cause it had nothing to do with the original topic.

You put a wad of play dough/putty on the back of the fairing then mount it and the bolt will make an indent in it where you need to drill. I prefer just using a laser pointer.

Is there any way that you could post a pic of your frame sliders i am looking to buy and want to see where they go.

Commented on the problem then threw in my 2 cents. I found it very relevant.

Jmclmorrow, you can drill your pilot hole right through the play dough to give you a perfect alignment.

Thx for the pic.
Did you have to dremel the hole afterwards or use a gromit to keep it from rubbing? Is there enogh spacing for it not to rub. I am planning on getting the woodcraft version.

drunkinmist- go check - this thread - out. I posted in regard to the Vortex sliders but generally most of the points will be similar for the Woodcrafts.

yea u can use a dremel to clean up the edges. remember to tape off where u are cutting

what is this sticky putty tack method your talking about...i just bought me a 06' 600 and got the vortex frame sliders the same day. i havent installed them yet because i dont want to go cutting up my new fairings and mess them all up. how should i aline for the holes>>???? is there a way to measure off the fairing to get the start point for my cut??
