Default power commander???????????Is there a how to somewhere on the F4i?

Hey guys. Just recently bought a power commander and Im waiting for it to get here. I was just wondering what are your thought on it. Does it provide a noticeable difference and is it really worth the money?

On bikes like F4is Ive always heard that it improves throttle response at low rpm and overall improves how the bike runs, but I dont think its going to turn your bike into a missle or anything like that. Ive never heard of anybody finding a bunch of hidden power in an F4i. I do have a powercommander on my cruiser and Im glad I bought it. Ive gone through 2 aftermarket exhausts and I know they would have popped and caused the bike to run like **** without the PC. I really should put one on myF4i considering the exhaust I run, probably will.

Are you getting yours tuned on a dyno or using a canned map?

I will get the canned map from online. I have the two brothers exhaust right now on the bike.

You'll notice some improved smoothness throughout lower RPMs. You won't see a significant difference unless you get it tuned.

Smoother lower rpms... makes it easier to not feel 'stuck' in a low rpm situation. Also I like the way my bike sounds at lower rpms with the PC. It's a subtle difference, but I think it sounds cooler :P That doesn't mean one should bog the engine on purpose though!

if you only have minor mods (ie k&n, exhaust, etc) just download a map online that has similar mods

no need to get it tuned bc if you compare all their maps they change very little bc of different mods on crotch rockets

the #s on the map show what percentage your fuel delivery is changed at a certain rpm and % of throttle
generally all maps change a great deal in the mid range and very little bottom end or WOT

They are spendy but the improved throttle response makes it worth it IMO.

Sure helped my bike run smoother. I don't know about improved power and whatnot but it runs real smooth after PC install.

I got K&N and Akrapovic full pipe which they had the exact map for it. Didn't really see a reason to get it tuned spend a fortune.

Many things can vary in a bike - a custom tune will always perform better than one of the included maps.

Yeah I agree with the custom tune, however, I have a two brothers carbon exhaust on right now and they say no to run that exhaust during a dyno or tune.
