Is it possible to make your own custom map?
I've been messing around with the power commander software and was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to make your own custom map. Since I don't have free access to a dyno would securely propping up the bike and running it the same as putting the bike on a dyno? just looking for some info if anyone has any experience with it.
In a nutshell, no.
The point of the dyno is:
- measure hp vs rpms
- measure torque vs rpms
- measure air/fuel ratio
When you dyno tune, you are adjusting your air/fuel mixtures to get the max hp and torque at any given rpm.
How are you going to do that without a dyno??? Propping it up just allows the rear wheel to run freely, unless you made your own dyno.

I've heard of people doing street tunes. I'm not totally sure how street tunes work but I think they make runs on the street and use some sort of data logging software to get results of which they can change the maps.
I already have a map but I was just wondering if it was possible seeing that in the software and on the powercommander itself you can adjust the settings. I feel that my bike is running a little bit rich so rather than paying the $400 to get a custom map I was trying to find alternatives. Anyone have any experience using what the powercommander has to offer to try and tweak some the settings?
