Default possible LOST KEY!!!

Alright fellas, so i'm freaking out here---can't find my key!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a disaster!

If the key doesn't surface before spring, something needs to be done obviously....

I pray that the drastic point doesn't arise but if it does....suggestions????

It's an 01 f4I-----WOW!

1) Take the igniton out and take it to a locksmith. If you call them and they come to you, decide which arm and leg you want to give up

2) Buy an ignition + key from Ebay. Risk is the ignition will be used

3) Tear the entire house apart and blame finding the key somewhere odd on the dog / wife / girlfriend / kid. My girlfriend tends to hide mine in weird little containers in random locations

if you have the tab that the key came with you can get it cut. If not just have a locksmith come to your house they will cut you a key on the spot

I bought a bike one time without a key - I took the ignition to the locksmith and had a new key cut in about a half an hour for next to nothing. Stop panicking.

Once you get a new key do what I do - get about a half a dozen of them made so you don't ever have this problem again.

If you have a locksmith come to you, they will prolly charge you for emergency service. Which is why I mentioned figuring out which arm / leg you can do without, cause that's what they're gonna charge you. If you take the ignition to them, they won't charge anywhere near as much.

I'd think the bike is too old to go to a dealer with the VIN and have a key made, if they can do that with motorcycles.

Dealers CAN do that for bikes. it isn't super cheap though and they need a special number from the inside of the ignition. (my friend lost his key last year)

take the ignition off the bike and bring it to both locksmith and honda dealership... see who is cheapest.

+1,000,000

They will take you for a lot of $$$ if you have them come to you.

If you have until spring, take the ignition out and take it to a locksmith. Save yourself the money.
