Default Possible to fit 01-03 aftermarket exhaust to 04-06 banana seat bikes?

Trying to put a D&D exhaust on my 05, with banana seat, but the passenger peg mount mount for the can clamp is WAY too far forward. Anyone have a solution? Looking at pictures looks like 01-03 and 04-06 had a different mounting location on the muffler even on factory setup.

Well, that is a new one on me, I did not think that there were any frame changes between those model years besides the rear sub-frame for the seat mounting. The exhaust and the rear footpegs/hangars look the same.
Do you have some pics you can show us?

It does look slightly different but not enough to make much of a difference. Unless of course the clamp is attached to the can and not one that can slide.

You could always bolt something between the peg and muffle clamp as an extender.

looking at just the bare pegs there is a difference, but the main issue is the mid pipe from the header to the can is too long I think:

and it looks like Honda welded the clamp
further down on a banana seat muffler can

There was no mid pipe in the OEM exhaust, it was integrated with the can and connected directly to the header pipes, your issue as you have said is the current mid pipe which does not match the new can and therefore the alignment is out.
You need a new mid pipe or amend the current one.

Hmm not quite. The midpipe and can go together, that’s how this aftermarket company sells it. That combo DOES fit a 01-03. They don’t sell F4i exhausts anymore so getting a different mid pipe is probably out.

There isn't enough on eaither/both ends to cut the mid pipe shorter and make it work?
The bends are hard to get a good 3d image of in pics, if you could get hwta, 1/2" off each side it might be close enough. You may have to spin the mid pipe a little to clear the swing arm though.
