Lou, I was just busting on you, joshing around, about the speedo-healer comment. I'm not gonna flame you either because I've been there, just be safe and keep the rubber side down.

Loue37,
congrats on the msf and the bike. please, be extremely cautious when approaching that type of speed. Have you learned how to come to a dead stop quickly from that speed? We probably have all gone up in that range of speed once or twice. its fun, gets the blood pumping. but, I would urge you practice your panic braking that you learned in the MSF course, not from the 30-45mph that you did there, but at all speeds, especially the high digits. unexpected things can happen very quickly at that speed, and when you get a good grasp on exactly how much distance it takes to stop from 100+, you may reconsider that speed on public roads. dogs, deer, children, are all often unseen obtacles.
Best advice ever. I have been practicing emergency braking quite a bit here lately. Cars pull out in front of me all the time! Trust me, if you don’t practice and you are actually in an emergency situation (and you will be) you will react using your instincts instead of reacting properly and calmly and it may not end well...especially if you have never had to brake quickly from that speed and don't know how.

But anyway, I was just as excited as you are when I hit 100 for the first time. Have a good time on it… you sound like a responsible person.

Excellent point. Not only have I been practicing breaking i've been also practicing the dodge technigue of rolling quickly to the left or right when something is all of a sudden in front of you. Thanks for all the advice and comments guys...i appreciate it being a total "noob" to this bike scene. Glad to be part of the brotherhood.

Keep on riding...safe!!!

yo...lou...
practice spelling too...it's 'braking'...muahahha

ok...a couple of things to note...emergency braking and dodging techniques both do not work when you're going that fast...you can sqeeze your brakes doing an nose stand and it'll still feel like you have no brakes!

dodging...at those speeds...when the broken highway line or dots disappear into 1 line...you can't even avoid a Siphonaptera!!!

we don't want to see anyone go down, much less leave this world. you may think you're being safe, etc...and not hurting anyone else, but who do you think is hurt if you ever leave this world?!?

avoid the avoidable...avoid the noid!

Going 100+ is nothing on these bikes, stopping quickly scares me at high speeds.
