Default Please Help Me Quick with headlight not turning on

Headlight will not turn on, fuses ok, what is the deal here?

I take it you checked the obvious problems? Lamp blew, wires corroded, wires not connected, loose wire...etc?

Just fixed mine. It was the starter assembly switch on the right clip on. Part is around $70 at dealer. If you open it up there are two wires souldered, one was disconnected which controls the headlamps at start up.

ok, i'll look at this, thanks...is it something i can replace myself, or does a dealer have to do it?

you should be able to diy, if you have some experience working on your bike.

A stubby phillips head screwdriver, 12 mm socket and ratchet for the clip on and a 14mm wrench to undo the throttle cables should do it.

just check through the wiring before you decide on buying a $70 part... a $10 meter can help with this if you dont have one already. If you can expose the connections of the starter switch and look at the wiring diagram, it should be possible to figure out if its blown.
