If I understand you correctly, the FI light flashes when the bike is off, but doesn't flash when the bike is on?

Define "runs like crap". What exactly is it doing? Stalling? No power?

well when i start the bike. sometimes the FI lights stays thats when the bike runs like a champ. but when the FI light is off the bike spits and sputters and dies all the time. i think that it might be something to do with the kick stand sensor but im not sure

My .02. When the fuel injection light is on the bike is probably defaulting to a factory parameter. Before it sets the code it doesn't know that something is wrong yet. This is just my automotive experience though.

i had a weird issue with my f4i like this. the bike would stall and run like crap at low RPM's along with the FI light being on. my kickstand would also shut off all electrical power to my bike when it hit a 'sweet spot'. and i do mean all electrical power. headlights, dash, ignition coils... license plate light... lol. everything you can think of electrical. i had to raise and lower my kickstand super quick in order to keep the bike running.

wish i could tell you more about it, but i sold it to its new owner like that. whoops!
