Default Play in the trottle grip?

How much play is normal in the throttle grip. I am not talking about the grip its self moving i am talking about that play where there is no trottle response? May its just me but I think its getting looser and looser. Any ideas or and I just overthinking it?
Thanks

All the ones, including mine, even when new have had about 1/2 inch or of freeplay. It's really personal preference, me I can't stand any freeplay so I have mine tightened up so there's no slack, as soon as you turn the grip you've got throttle response. The looseness was driving me insane!! hahah. Real easy to adjust it with the little adjustment screw right on the cable attached to the clip on

cables stretch, but it may be a sign of damage if it gets real bad.
ajust if you must but always leave some freeplay

mine also had about half inch pissed me right off especially at low speeds when i went to give it gas it would be all loose then tighten up and usually makes the bike do jerky acceleration.

1 I leave about 1/16" of free play so it doesn't want to rev the bike up and it works good for me.

I have almost no play in mine. I use a 1/5 turn throttle and don't like to have any slack.

As long as it dosent throttle up when you turn the bars you are OK.

1/2" sounds like WAY too much. I have no idea how you could have good throttle control with that much play.

You can adjust it at the switch housing or at the throttle bodies.
