oil light

Default oil light

sup evryone, have had this 02 for bout six weeks now, got it second hand, always had a damn oil light come on, not sure how i overlooked it before i bought it, changed the oil, still the light, comes on bfore i crank and after i throw the kill switch. display malfunction? something worse? bike runs great, but that damn light..any clues?

is this what you are talking about when the key is on but bike is off and it blinks??? if so that is normal because there is no oil pressure so it thinks its not working.

its normal for the oil pressure light to be there b4 ur engine is running.
But if the light still there while engine is running... there might be a problem... good luck.

OK, GREAT, THANKS GUYS,thatas it then, the guy i bought it from didnt have the manual, so if i have stupid ?, my apologies.

Yeah, the oil light will flash when the key is on but the engine is not. Ask away with any questions, that's what the forums are for.

so if the oil light is still there after 5 seconds of bike being turned on and then it goes away is this still ok????

Did you time it as 5 seconds? That seems a little long for the light to be on. I bet if you put a clock on it, it stays on 2-3 seconds max.

yes it is just like 2 seconds i didnt have with me the bike this morning so i just recalled around 5 seconds , thnx anyways i drove it today and it feels fine and no lights came on while driving .

yea i thought the same thing at first and i had to check my manual like the day i got the bike but yea good thing it wasnt a problem for u
