I was starting my cbr since i'm not able to ride it for a few days and notice when i rev the engine at the upper rpm levels that it will start leaking oil. I'll need to take off the fairings this weekend to work on it. but what is usually the cause of it?

As the RPMs increase so does the pressure inside the motor. High oil pressure can force oil out of a slow leak faster making it appear as though it only leaks when the RPMs are higher.

Did you replace the crush washer on the drain plug?

 

Not yet...i'm doing the work this week end. but, i wanted some expert advance on what to lookout for while i'm doing the expection.. i'll make sure i'll look for that thanks.

 

I had a leak and it turned out that the o-ring on my oil filler cap was missing
