Default O2 Sensor?

I have a 2006 CBR F4i, I just installed (last night)a slip-on FMF Titanium exhaust. I noticed the O2 sensor didn't quite stretch far enough to reinstall properly on the midpipe. I used the included plug for the sensor on the mid pipe, ran the bike and had no FI warning light come on so I just leftthe sensoroff. Do I have to reinstall the O2 Sensor? I assume since it is just hanging there, it may be damaged further since I rode to work today and those sensors are fairly fragile. If there is no warning light can I assume there is no problem? Anyone elsejust left this sensor disconnected?

If I do need to reconnect it, is there any point along thepath of the wires to get a little extra slack so it will reach?

Thank you.

Default RE: O2 Sensor?

The wire for the o2 sensor is short stemming from the main wiring harness, i don't think you can get more slack. And you might see a decrease in gas mileage, but since the FI light isn't on im not sure.
