Default Notchy throttle

In the ongoing struggle to become a better rider, I have noticed a deficiency in the bike. It is regarding throttle control in the on/off transition.

Looking through magazine archives I find that it was a common complaint among reviewers when the F4i was new, as bikes were just adopting fuel injection at that time.

Has anyone come up with a solution to give a more seamless on/off throttle response? My equipment/mods are in my sig but I'm sure the answer will benefit all F4i riders.

Your mods (if installed properly) should have fixed this. ONE in particular........a PCIII. Try giving the PC III the acclerator pump feature and see if that helps at all. Might be worth a shot.

Thanks for the quick reply. I used a map that Muzzy sent me and swtiched between that one and one that was on there when I bought the bike used. I'll lookup the accelerator pump feature. I assume I can find it on Dynojet's website?

Accelerator pump feature is only available for USB models. Mine is a 3r and not USB. :-(

LOL........that sucks. Nice thought though. Could try downloading a map off of Dynojets website. I suppose it's possible that even a good map wont fix it, but it should make it noticably better.

This on/off problem is typical of the F4i from what I have heard and read. It is the fault of the first generation fuel injection. I don't notice mine anymore, but the first few months it was a pain.

Did you have it custom mapped? I seem to have it regardless of the map used. Sometimes it's not as noticable, except when I'm focusing on opening the throttle smoothly. For a long time I thought it was me. Now I know.

Not yet. I do still have a slight hesitation at the initial throttle opening, but it has gone away significantly since I install the pcIII and played with different maps. Like gixxereater stated it could need a pump tuning or it could be just the nature of the f4i's fuel injection.
