I was gonna install frame sliders on my f4i and when I went to un screw the left side motor mout bolt and it broke off on me and now stuck in there. In the process i felt it going a little tight so i was doing it slow but then it snapped. I dont know if the previous owner messed with it and and knocked off the thread. Any one has any suggestions? I really dont wanna take it to Stealership to get it fixed.

 

Dremel a line into it and use a flat head screwdriver to remove?

 

i know what u saying but i can even get in there with a dremel, it broke off in the frame

 

get a drill with a bit a little smaller than the bolt and drill down through its center

then take a left hand thread bit that's almost as big as the bolt and run it out

 

whats the left hand thread bit? Im not really familiar with those just know basic

 

Take it to a shop then, you wouldn't want to start learning / experimenting on your bike.

 

Go to an auto parts place or something similar and tell them your problem. They will know what you will need and how to do it. Basically you drill a small hole in the bolt and use the left handed thread bit (the teeth go in the opposite direction) to pull the bolt out. It is pretty easy

 

Sounds like the bolt was cross threaded at one time. No fun, i had the same thing happen to me.. took a small drill bit drilled down into the center of the broken bolt.. Used and easy out and just backed it out.. Your probably going to have to drill out the threads and re tap the hole once you get the bolt out.. At least that's what i had to do, not that hard just needed to use a little bit bigger bolt.

 

oh yeah in case you don't know what an easy out is.. it looks like a drill bit but it doesnt cut..

 

Sounds like someone forced it into the case when it wasn't in the threads right, leading you to strip it when you took it out.
