ok..i was just turning the idle counter clockwise until suddenly the whole thing came off with the spring tube and screw! where the hell does this plug back into?

 

hmm i am not sure on that..
was the bike sounding like it's miss firing?
honestly your throwing money into some thing just THINKING that is what's wrong. you might be better taking it to a shop or having some one more knowledgeable help you out. its prob some thing simple like most times.

and go to honda and get a service manual if you do not yet have one

 

actually i was tuning the bike up so was replacing old parts. i got everything running now. but now the headlights dont work! i checked the headlight fuses and they work but no headlights. i could start the bike but no headlights!

 

what was wrong. and do you have a multi meter or a test light?? if you go see if you have power at the head light harness it self the reason i say get a book is because if you can read and you have the book you can fix any thing on the bike. i did not mean any thing in disrespect at all so please dont think that . i have seen so many friends dump so much money into things that was not the problem it's unreal.

 

i do have the service manual actually and i do READ it. and yea the headlight harness was kind of loose. now everything works perfect. thank you! time for a test ride!

 

I had the same issue on mine, my harness has to be loose to make a connection for everything to work. I may just have to hard wire mine. Glad you got it sorted.

 

any parts store has male and female butconnectors you can get they are like 15 bucks better than hard wiring this way you can take it apart with out cutting .

 

the bike feels like a whole new bike. this whole time i thought this was how the bike was suppose to feel, but now o man everything just feels way different and better . stronger pull in the friction zone, and shifting is way smoother now. i have been missing out! not anymore!

 

Yea, that's what I meant, shouldn't have said hard wire, thanks though.

omg209 what did you did to improve shifting?

 

Just plug your old harness together, and take a zip tie and run across it to hold it tightly together. No more problem.
