i'm sure once you warm them up, they are great tires....but like i originally said, it takes a WHIIILE to warm them up, simply cause of the fact that they are dual compound.

and fyi, even on my stunt bike with a +10 sprocket, i couldn't break loose a regular pilot power (yes, in the winter)

if you plan to warm up the tires EVERY TIME before you hit the the turns, go ahead by all means, for my type of riding, i want a tire that's good all around, even if it's not as sticky as the 2CT soft compound 20%

regardless, to each their own.

What do you consider a while to warm up? Mine warm up just fine with one slow to moderate lap on the track (around 2.5 miles) or about 2-3 minutes on the highway doing some braking and acceleration.

Michelin even advertises reduced warm-up times due to MotoGP tested technology. The magazines love them, too. Here's a quote from a magazine review on the 2CT: "It was well received by the motorcycle press and buying public primarily for its great grip and quick warm-up time. Those two traits being a direct result of the tech borrowed from GP tires."

Now, if you're talking about Pilot Power RACE tires, I agree. They appear, to me, to take longer to warm-up and never get good heat on the street; you really need warmers (and keep them on between sprints/races), and after about 4-5 heat cycles (that is the same as "street" rides; it could actually be just 1 or 2 heat cycles depending on several things) you're done with them, they start getting greasy.

well, then one of our sources is wrong.

now, the warm-up time you're referring to (due to MotoFP technology) could be ONLY for the center compound, the middle 80% of the tire.

not sure if the middle of the 2ct is the "exact" same compound as the regular powers. ALL i'm saying is that, from what i've heard, AND seen in front of me, the sides take wayyy longer to warm-up.

p.s. i'm particularly talking about street riding, not track.

They're Pilot Powers.... I'm sure Misch. know what they're doing at this point in terms of a 'normal' warm-up time. And I can't see anybody not putting the few twists and pulls in to get there **** warm before hitting up a canyon. What ever they're both good tires.

I personally just moved from Diablo Corsa III's to Bt-016s TODAY!!!! YAY new rubber!

I haven't ridden' many different tires, but I can say the Diablo's were very very sticky. I scared myself dry of adrenaline last summer on them, and other than the ware they were totally awesome.

I went to the 016s on the recommendation of this dude at Modern here in Van. He races, asked me what I like: (sticky as, I ride as much as I can and commute, and I want them to be there for me in the hills... big time) He said the 016s are the best for the money. Cheaper than the corsas, last longer, and potentially are better for what I'll use them for (that, and they're not 3 year old tech.)

Everyone I know who's ridden PPs rave about them like they're chocolate coated Jesus on a stick.

Once I get the film off my 16s I'll know for sure, but 391 CDN installed I doubt I'll be complaining.

I'm still debating over the corsa III's and the 2cts. The corsa's have a weird tread pattern to them, does anyone else think so. But I am still wondering what a more triangular tire feels like also with the 2ct.

Just pick a set and try it. Nobody can tell you what's best.

Please get back to us. Would love to know I'm also interested in the 16s.

SO day two on the 016s, I went out for about 3 hours after school (got off at 1:30 rode about 160kms.

They feel fantastic.

Mostly due to the fact that my Diablo's were old and had lost a lot of feeling. But man, it took nothing to get them warm, and I felt WAY more of my bike than I had ever before (even when the Diablo's were new). They really accent the power band (and my slightly out top-end) and the fact that the tires are made for a much stronger bike (I'm on 99 F4 with 40K kms).

The feedback is so good from them, turn-in feels amazing, and breaking them in was real easy. I could feel them back in on the tight corners very slightly from being new, but once I shrunk the chicken strips a bit they have such a soft bite.

I can't stress enough how much more of my bike I'm feeling with these. It's basically made her feel smaller and lighter, way more manageable all around.

I'm rambling, but if you could see my smile you wouldn't need to read this. I think I'm going to put on some Motown and dance around for a bit.
