If your stock chain is in good condition then it will work with the -1 / +2 conversion. I have done this on two F4i's and I love it on both. Yes the disadvantage is that you are at a higher RPM on the highway but its not high enough to hurt the bike if you go on a weekend trip. Be sure to get Speedohealer or you will be racking up miles 10-15% faster and your MPH will be off just the same.

A -1 / +2 conversion makes it a lot more responsive in the lower gears and yes people do this conversion just to help them wheelie.

I only have run vortex sprockets so do not know (personally) with any other brands. Vortex looks good and is a lot lighter.

If your chain and or sprockets need replacement already then by all means do the conversion. If your stock pieces are in good shape then leave them alone. Forget everyone saying don't do it unless you change the gearing. Sure you don't hit the 165mph top speed the bike is limited to RPM wise but who the hell needs to be revving higher around town? You get that by downshifting any time you want and still keep gas milageup and engine wear down when your cruising. Track bikes are another story but this isen't a track bike.

It's just preference bored, if someone wants to pull it up easier in town or have more response then by all means go for the conversion, if they don't want that then keep it stock.
