Hey guys n gals
I just grabbed an unmolested 2004 F4i last week. My normal bike is a built and tuned Z900RS, but I wanted something easier to throw around the tight corners.
I'm normally not one to keep something standard looking, but this thing is like some twenty year old time traveler LOL
Up to yet, I've gone through it all, and waiting on parts to finish getting here.
Has a Yoshi end can, K&N air filter, new fuel pump, CTC been swapped for a manual one right before purchase, and PCIII already.
Cleaned all the throttle bodies up, changed plugs, checked vacuum lines, and so on
I pulled all the Cali emission junk, see if any lights pop up after riding it
Braided lines and Vesrah pads here today
New OEM clutch cable and generator cover gasket this week (cover is scratched), got the cover already
New headlight, rearset to replace a slightly bent one, turn signal lenses, regulator/rectifier just to be preventative, -1 / +2 sprockets, SpeedoHealer, and some other stuff that was scratched etc. all on the way
Also going with Andreanni cartridges up front with the right springs, and Nitron out back......Same as my 900RS
I may try to get some better looking body work for it, see what pops up
Martin

Welcome to the forum. was unmolested....
You have really gone to town on her, was it a runner before you started your refurb?
The suspension changes should make a big difference, they are good as standard, but not great. Be interesting to see how it handles when you are finished.

Thank you!
Yep, it was a runner. I drove it the 100 miles back home after purchase, followed by my wife in the pickup just in case
With only ten thousand miles though, it was proof enough it had sat most of it's life. Bad for lots of components. Only things recently changed were the CCT to a manual version, fuel pump, K&N air filter and oi/filter.
It's getting new braided brake lines, Vesrah pads, Andreanni fork cartridges, and a few other goodies to keep it as original looking as possible
I measured the sag with me on it, something I do when setting any bike up, and couldn't get the front below 51%! Rear was fine at 29%, but will probably need replacing too. It came with some Pirelli SP tires, brand new, that may or may not get binned
I got it to tinker on, and to enjoy the twisties on. Nearly got a '04 Fireblade, but the sellers were a joke... Just a bad feeling
Most parts turned up yesterday and today, so will be tinkering tomorrow time permitting.
New head bearings are a must, they were loose on the ride home. Ricks regulator/rectifier is here, as a preventative measure, and so on
I'll try to post a write up of anything that people want. Front forks probably, as they were few and far between when I searched

Redid the head bearings. Turns out some monkey was in there recently, and never installed the lock washer correctly.
Speedo Healer on and programmed (I hope), oil and filter done, all the wiring tidied up, new OEM clutch cable, sprockets swapped, and so on.
Andreanni cartridges ordered. Unsure of the rear yet
Off for a spin today, see how she does.

Well, drug a knee on the stock suspension LOL
The tires aren't too terrible, so they can stay on for hot days
I ordered the Andreanni cartridges and Nitron rear shock, so they should sort out the banging 20 year old suspension
