New member that needs to rebuild a CBR F4i.
Hi everyone, my name is Dan and I do not own a CBR600 Motorcycle.
A little about myself, I attend Florida International University and have one year until I graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Robot Design.
The reason I need your help is because I own the engine of a CBR 600, and the engine will power our FSAE Formula car, more info on the competition can be seen here http://www.fsae.com/
I have mucho experience with engines and powerplants. I own a 1991 mustang 5.0 with AFR165 heads, Trickflow cam, 3.73 gears, and supporting mods. All mods were installed by myself.
But, I have never worked on a motorcycle engine, the engine as it sits now is completely disassembled down to the block in 2 peices (I was in shock what I found out the block was bolted together!)
We have all the main bearings, rod bearings, replacement clutch, stock cams, stock valves, replacement crank and everything must be rebuilt and ready to be thrashed on hard.
For tuning, I decided that a Megasquirt EFI system would be the cheapest and most effective decision. www.msefi.com
Then you guys come in, this is your turf and you guys know all the tricks of the trade when it comes to rebuilding the F4i. If there are pointers you can give me to get in the right direction I would be very happy. I really like this engine and will like it more when i hear it at 12500 RPM.
Thanks,
- Dan
