The final result is much nicer and, more importantly, brighter. I'm in the midst of the exact same change. Did you buy a new undertail or cut a hole for the bigger light in your previous one?

 

i got another undertail from ebay. i thought about cutting up the old one, but it probably wouldnt have looked as clean as this. i love the way it looks now .

 

How much was it? I'm thinking about cutting my aftermarket LED undertail to fit the stock style light. But if the unpainted correct undertail is cheap enough, I could probably sell my current undertail and not be out much money.

 

i hardly ever see these types of undertails on ebay. i got it for $65 shipped. i'm pretty lucky i got it for so cheap. the paint was still really good on it, but it was silver so i sanded it down and painted it black.
