Default New flush mounts = electrical has gone crazy

I bought some yana shiki flush mounts from motosport.com on closeout figuring what the heck, their cheap so lets try em. My old mototek flush mounts weren't working anymore anyways. The oem wiring for front turn signals is 3 wires: a ground, a flasher and a running wire. The new flush mounts only have a red and black wire and no instructions. So I wired the red to the running and flasher wires for the bike and black to the ground. The flush mounts work great with this setup, problem is my taillight [aftermarket intigrated] is now yellow instead of red and the turn signal is red instead of yellow. Also my turn signal arrows on my dash are always on now and blink brighter when I use my signals.

Im going to try just wiring up the turn signal and not the blinker wire to the flush mounts and see what happens. Any ideas on whats going on?

Your not suppose to wire the running and flasher together to the red...it's shorts everything. You gotta convert the 3 wires to 2 wires using diodes...if you wants running lights. Are the new signals led?

If led, then you can do it (running lights) because led won't get too hot and melt your fairings. There was a write up here some where regarding convert 3 wire to 2 wire set up using diodes....those diodes cost less than a $1. May be some members here can help find this thread...I'm currently on my iPhone so cannot search site so easily.

I would say just convert from 3 to 2 wires and call it a day. Just don't wire the running light...it Should be the one that is two colored.
