Default New bike question

I just got my 2006 F4I and I have a question. First when I put it in first gear it makes one loud click almost like a thud. Is that ok? next when I am rippin through the gears sometimes when I get to 6th it misses it and then I end up reaving up to like 12 gand. What the hell is wrong with it? Last thing is that tud happens bettween shifts some times. Anyway thanks for the help.

Clicking down into first with a thud is quite normal, you get that on a lot of bikes. Did you buy ur bike new or used? About missing in 6th gear, if you are sometimes trying to shift too fast in any gear, and dont engage the clutch all the way properly, it can be caught in the middle of the gear, like in "neutral". My advice to you would be, slow down your shifting just a bit until you get your timing down better, and make sure ur pulling in the clutch all the way.

missing in between gear is a false shift that makes you hit a false neutral.
you gots to shift like you have ballz mang...BAM BAM BAM...like all wussy mang...

the thud is cool...happens a lot. perfectly safe.
but if you tranny blows up...something is wrong.

I've noticed that on occasion I have a little trouble hitting 6th as well. Like Tahoe says, shift with authority - BAM!

It's reving high because you're not letting off the throttle enough when you're pulling in the clutch. The thump may be because you're not pulling the clutch in enough and try taking your time, I know it's hard at first because it's so much fun but once you get good shifting technics down then you're set. Good luck and keep the shiny side up.

Just wondering if this is a new bike you might want to consider brake in time. If it is new, slow down before you wind up with problems down the road I'm a strong believer in proper brake in.

i'm a strong believer in proper spelleing! buhahhahah...

you know...gots to ask yoself the whole proper break in thang...
it's more for the piston rings to seal properly, etc...anything that is out of sync or alignment will just get beat up based on the high RPMs...

i run my schiznit hard from the get go...after 38K...she still loves me...
