If you ride with any skin exposed or your helmet has a clear shield use plenty of sunscreen. You will get fried anywhere that shows (face too) on a full day of riding

Thanks everyone. I'll just do the normal oil change with the filter. I've been running Mobil1 syn Racing 4T 10W40 since I got the bike so I'll stick with that.

I'll def have the wifey bring tools and some windex with rags in the car Oh ya and some sandwiches and burritos the size of my head...

So someone mentioned a license plate light...I do not have one currently and assumed the brake light illuminated the plate well enough..are CA police that **** about things like this?

As for the psi..I am **** and check it twice a week. With the tires cold, after sitting, I set the front to 35psi and back to 40psi. This seems ideal for highway riding don't you think? Want to get good mileage and wear on the tires without my baby-makers feeling every bump of the road

Chances are you'd be ok w/o a plate light...but hey, you asked. LEOs looking for a reason will find it if there's no plate light (where talking about night riding). Get one of these, connect wire, peel & stick,...you're good to go. http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1...em=PRC_SM-LPL2 .

Padded shorts make all the difference in the world to me and they feel amazing.

Thanks guise-Ill look into padded shorts and Gotcbr-I actually saw those speedmetal stick-on LED's at cyclegear..$10 seems worth it not to be hassled.

About the oil, I just comfirmed I changed it only 1800 miles ago. It was the first oil change Ive done since the previous owner though so the only reason I was contemplating changing it and filter early (at 1800 miles) was bc I figured any leftover chit he had in there before most likely is ready to come out in this first oil change? Your thoughts?

quick question. What is that circular piece that looks like a flat head screwdriver should tighten it on the clutch handle housing? I know how to adjust the clutch cable/lever via the lock nut and adj screw, and currently it is nice and tight to my liking, but I noticed that silver circular flat-head piece is somewhat loose. I just tightened it up all the way? Hope this was ok. I didnt notice any adj with the lever when doing this so...

Just a word of advice. 55 Degrees may sound warm to other parts of the Country but you will be right on the Ocean going speed. The wind chill can creep quickly down so be ready.

And... Cali drivers are exceptionally bad.

Yep, and you should also tighten the nut on the other end of that bolt. It should be tight so the pivot bolt can't back out again.
