How old is your petrol (or fuel or gas, whatever you want to call it). If your bike's been sitting around doing not much for a few months, then stale petrol can affect the way the engine runs.

p.s. it must really suck living somewhere where it's so cold you can't ride for months on end. No problems like that here Down Under!

too many problems on this thread. for the guy that keeps stalling it at lights, if its not the battery, thenjust a guess, but it could be a clutch out of adjustment, or bad gas, or too low idle, or dirty injectors.when you have the clutch in, does it still try to pull? if so, you need to read the manual and adjust the clutch. (also make sure it really is in nuetral, green light an all)

make sure the idle is correct, read the manual for how to adjust...dont take this for fact, but I think its supposed to be at 1800rpm at idle, but I really cant remember right now. make sure you have fresh gas, I dont know, maybe try some injector cleaner...maybe, not sure if that snake oil works on bikes.

Your right. There are more problems than we know. Though, I do not think they are serious. I think he needs to take this bike in and get it serviced. I do not think he is capable though of doing it himself. Or sell it to me cheap and I will get it right.

Idle speed is 1300 +/- 100.

Would dirty injectors cause the bike to caput instantly under 2k or would it just sputter and run rough?

Also is there such a thing as stale fuel? I mean I have heard of guys storing bikes over winter with no stablalizer and the bike fired up and ran strong first pop?

Just curious is all

who knows, its next to impossible to troubleshoot stuff like that over the net. maybe he puts the kickstand down at lights and it kills it?

Fuel is normally only good for around 3 months, after that, its detonation qualities start to go a little AWOL. The bike will more than likely start, but it will run like a dog, especially on low revs. Throttle response is also likely to to take a dive.
