I am in the process of replacing the fuel tank on my 02 F4i when I came across this, at first I thought it was an O2 sensor, any idea what it is? I have tried searches with no luck.

Not a stock part, that's for sure. What is it connected to?

Looks like the rear brake light switch to me. Should be mounted behind the right side rear set.
