Default need help with farings

i had a minor accident with the bike about a month ago and have just got around to fixing it. i have very minimal damage and have bought replacement parts for every thing but the front fairing. it had a small crack in it and took it to a few body shops who refused to touch it then one said 390 dollars to repair it and another said you cant repair motorcycle fairings at all. So where can i get a new fairing or can i fix this?

Fixing your own bike builds character.

The "Plastic Weld" epoxy is what I used to repair the tail section on my bike too, after I'd made the big cutouts for the Givi Mounts. Filled in the 6" x 10" hole with a shaped piece of ABS plastic bought at the same plastic shop, helped support the inside joint with 1" fiberglass tape. It worked great, easy to use, sanded nicely.Had the same results asking body shops to paint it - no one wanted to touch it, finally got an estimate of $300. All I wanted was black! So I took it on myself, and got all kinds of new respect for folks who can sand for longer than I can....some finished pics are in an F1 thread re: hard bags not that long ago, you can see I DON'T have a new career as a body-work specialist in my future. :' )Couldn't get a shiny finish, so settled for matte black and then did a rattle can silver leopard print on the back top part.....lowered my expectations til I was happy with it - haha! I use my bike for running errands, the Givi bags are on it most of the time, it's all good.-Susan'04F4i
