Default New and thinking about a F4i

Car guy who wants to get back onto a bike. My needs are a weekend bike with the occasional trip to other Texas cities.

I have been looking at several bikes. The bike I like the best so far is the F4i. The RR has been all but ruled out because of the way my wife would have to ride. The same can be said about the Gixxer and F6.

The other bikes that I have looked at is the Katana 750, Interceptor and the FZ1. Of these bikes, the F4i is my choice but I have some questions. The F4i is the closest to a true sport bike that I have looked at. I really would like the 1000rr but concerned about it being too much bike.

I have read that ~200 lbs is maxing out the F4's load. I am 205 and my wife is 105. Is the F4 enough bike for me and the occasional ride with my wife?

How is the bike in in town riding and on extended trips?

Are there any other questions I should be asking or anything you guys can share?

TIA

TA

It's 386 lb (US) and 395 (Can)... no I don't know why they are different

There are several comparison threads here.
Here's a good one: https://cbrforum.com/m_197746/tm.htm

You can spend hours on the F4i without having to massage your *** every so often. [:@]

F4i is a good choice, the 1K might be a little too much power and $ to spend on just a weekend bike, IMO. I'd def go with the f4i

Well I weigh in at 277 and the little missus is 180. With that in mind the bike still wants to take off like a rocket, and handles good. So you and wifie will be just fine. Just get alot of practice before you put her on the back! It is alot different for 2ppl than it is for one. Especially if the person on the back is not experienced at being a passenger. Tell her not to try to help you, especially in turns. The F4i is a great bike. Have fun and be safe.

Cool, that is what I was looking for.

I have decided on the F4i. I have read so many reviews and test and it appears to be a great bike. It's been 10 years since I have had a bike.

I found a Blue/Black 06 for 7999.00. I am waiting for some other dealerships to call back with their quotes.

ahhh yeah I'm not sure how prices roll over in Texas but it was a struggle to get one around 8 here in Cali, so that's why I think you found a good price, but I could be wrong :P
