My f4i is new again! Well close enough.
After almost 2 months [mostly waiting on parts]finally finished my f4i's overhaul on sat. Set the valves. New air filter, oil+filter, coolant+flush, brake fluid+flush, grips, clutch cable, spark plugs, thermostat housing gasket+o-ring, all cooling system hoses, and the cam chain tensioner lifter. I also went to town cleaning the throttle bodies. This combined with just having rebuilt the front forks with new fluid, seals, bushings and sliders.
Its amazing how different the bike feels. Throttle response is amazing, the engine feels "meaner", and it doesn't have that annoying issue of idling high like it supposed to when its cold until it hits about 120* then it would idle much too low [about 900rpm] before going backto 1300rpm at full temp [always a good indication valves need to be set or plugs need to be replaced but I can't remember which and I did both at the same time so....]. All thats left is to rebuild the rear shock, which has never been done.
