Default motor temperature problem!!!

I have a 06 f4i , and my temperature is rising very fast as soon as I' m slowing down let's say at 45 mph... I did't had this problem before but I just found out that my clutch is weak and I should change it... can it afect the motor temp.,? because the dealer told me that as soon as I change the clutch everything will go back to normal. So what do you guys think??

yeah, the fan starts at 220-224., and I was riding today for 20 miles on a highway, and as soon as I stopped at a light the temp. kicked from 180 to 220 in a half a minute, the fan started but the temp. was still going up and it reached to 228... but the fan was working?????!!!

My bike is similar in the 30mph range, I think at 45 I run cool enough. But unless the clutch is slipping almost all the time, I am not really sure how that would affect your temp anyway. Was today just hotter than yesterday, could it be that simple?

well I live in Florida, and it was 85 today, but I didn't had this problem before I had problem with the clutch, I had the bike even in key west and it was like 100 and yes the temp. would go till 224- the fan kicks and the temp is going down till 119 at least, but today it was going up, and I started from the stop light and kept like 80 mph for a couple a minutes but the temp. would not go down!!! so I don' know????

Sounds like a pressure problem. I would check that your radiator cap is tight and making a proper seal. Then I would flush the coolant and refill, being careful to properly bleed, as you could conceivably have an airpocket.

You have an 06, whats going on with the clutch? Im in FL too, its starting to get to hot to ride during the day, but your temp range seems normal. Mine does the same...constantly moving at a good speed Im at about 180, around 35-40 my temp goes to 195 or so, and once I stop it always makes the jump up to where the fan kicks on. Unless your riding around, without stoping, and your temp stays high then it may be something else.

It sucks to ride in the summer in south FL, but whatever....at least we can ride 365 days a year!!

As long as its not going over 228 or so ,there is nothing wrong..As far as going down to 119 its not gonna happen..The coolest mine runs is 170's at best..In traffic its nothing to jump up to 220+ in less than a min.
A 06 needing a clutch ,you must be REALLY hard on it..I got 13k on mine(bought it new) clutch feels great, and third gen has 120k on his stock clutch..
