Default mods to bike

I just bought a 01 F4i and it has a Dynojet power commander and a steering dampener. Does anyone have a technical explanation of how these things work and how much more performance I'm getting from having them there?

Well the power commander is something that changes the air fuel mixture depending on the amount of throttle you give it. That mod is something that if you took off, then you would def. notice a difference. It gives your bike a more crisp throttle response, it also makes the 3-7RPM range smoother. Also i think it adds like 3 horsepower to your powerband. Now for the steering damper. You dont necessarily needs this unless you are doing aggresive riding. For example it ensures your front wheel is straight under heavy acceleration, because if you get on the throttle to hard, your front wheel may come off the ground, or be lightly touching. As for when your making your turns, it allows for your turns to be smoother without wobble, and you can potentially make tighter turns with this mod. But if i was you, i would keep both mods on the bike because both are awesome mods, and will help you in different areas of your riding. welcome to the forum.

There's nothing to say that the power commander is programmed correctly though, it could have the bone stock map in it. Do you have a pipe or any other mods to the bike?
