if the bike sounds happy and feels happy, it is happy. For me, it's below 4000 rpm's in gears 3-6. The exhaust sounds duller when toquing the wheel below that engine speed. My bike doesn't sound happy doing that, so i don't do it.

Any technical explaination? I hardly go over even 5000 rpm when street riding..
Clogs something in the engine is what he told me. If you ride under 6.

if you dont know, dont post.

Riding at low rpms is normal and is best for economy and reduced engine wear. Nothing will get clogged...[sm=smiley24.gif]
3000-5000rpms is ideal cruising range under all circumstances

You'll get more carbon deposits down low and the fact that the pistons and crank dont spin that fast or as fast as they should it doesnt get the oil warm enough and carbonizes the motor more then it should. You should beat the crap out of it once in a while its healthy. I used to keep mine at 4k and now keep it at 6k and she loves it.

Btw the gas mileage thing is garbage. I get 140mi before hitting the reserve when i cruised at 4k and now i cruise at 6-7k and get the exact same **** using super.

Let's be honest 6k rpms isn't exactly "revving" a street bike. Lugging the bike along and keeping it in low RPMs are too completely different things anyway. 3rd gear going 15mph = lugging.
