Default Me...the bobble head...

So I have a small head. I currently ride with this SparX S-07 in Matte Black. Size Small. It fits nice and snug but for some reason I just feel like the shell of this helmet is just 1) too round (instead of aggressive shaped at a slant in the front) and 2) just plain old too big! I feel like a bobble head riding down the street. The helmet seems to me more like a Vespa helmet ; (

I REALLY like the look of this Scorpion EXO 700 Black Dahlia seen here. Seems to have a more slanted down aggressive profile than the SparX

Then I stumbled across this review here…and it states that the shell of the EXO 700 seems too big even with a size small! And that the helmet comes down to far even to touch the shoulders!!

Do I just have too small of a head to find a normal looking, nongigantic looking helmet for my frame or am I not looking at the right helmets? Also, is it just me or does my current SparX S-07 helmet just seem to not have an aggressive profile (round)? Does the EXO 700 have a more slanted down aggressive profile? Or am I expecting something that doesn’t exist ; (

I feel my exo700 has a pretty aggressive profile and I'd say the slant is a pretty noticeable feature. I believe Scorpion makes two shell sizes in the 700 series. XS-M is the same shell but with just different padding so it may look a little big for those who have smaller heads. I remember reading that Shoei had specific shell sizes for each size. Maybe give Shoei a try? Not really sure about their new series though. Lol I stopped keeping up with Shoei since I can't afford them anymore.

Yes your current helmet has a more round profile like my old bell apex did. As for sizing you must not be looking around right, perhaps try some of the not cheap helmets? My girlfriend has a small noggin and her arai fits great. Go to a local shop and start trying a bunch on.

unfortunately only Arai, Shoei, and maybe Shunomi(sp?) have more than 1 or 2 shell sizes.

Arai I know has at least 3, but Arai is about the most expensive helmets out, tho def worth it if you can afford em.

Bell has 3 shells for the star and vortex lines. if you want bang for your buck, check out the bell vortex. i have the rsd apocalypse edition and it's sick.

what's your hat size? i wear a medium in bell. they have some great closeout deals for the 08-09 models of the star for like 200 bucks. planning on getting one soon. they run a bit smaller so my medium head would be a small in the 08-09 star. seriously suggest you check those out.

go to stg or motorcyclecloseouts.com

yea that's the 2009 version with Snell M2005.

here do this for fitting. go to nearest cyclegear or whatnot and try on helmets. try on the scorpion exo700 or any newer shoei. that should give you a good idea of your general head size.

you know how your helmet should fit right? the fit test?

anyways, whatever size you wear in those, you should go down a size in the 09 bell star. they run big in the 09 production. trust me on this, i've done so much research on these dam helmets.

also, besides sizing difference in the 2009 model to the 2010, you get TWO pairs of cheek pads for the 09, a soft and a firm. only firm with the 10. you still get the track strip, but you won't get the magnafusion magnet helmet strap liek the 10. it's convenient but you can live without it. annnd i think the inside liner is just a bit different in the 10, with less seams for more comfort. oh well, i can be uncomfortable for half price.

ooo and 100th post. now i can sell my boots and exhaust. thanks!
