Default Looking for some member input on Gearing

There is NO WAY I'm keeping this 60T rear sprocket. I've seen on eBay there's a few dudes selling front/rear sprocket combo's w/ the new chain. That's what I want to do BUT I wanted to get some Gearing input from some of you on what your running and why. As far as my intended style of riding goes, I don't really care about wheelies or top speed necessarily. What I'm looking for is when I get done riding to say "Damn this Bike Fun to Ride"

-1/+2 from stock with stock chain length is the ticket.

Go to the Gearing Commander website, load your bike's factory gearing from the drop down menu and experiment with different gear combinations to see how they affect rpm, top speed, etc.

Depends. If you want 0-100mph acceleration that's on par with a Ferrari F50, a 160mph top speed, and a reasonable engine RPM when cruising in 6th on the freeway, then stick with stock gearing. If you feel you need 0-100mph acceleration that's more in the realm of the Bugatti Veyron, a 145mph top speed, and a higher engine RPM when cruising on the freeway in 6th (which will result in quite poor fuel economy as the F4i is already a thirsty bike when stock), then go with -1/+2 front/rear.

RoadiJeff, Thanks for that link, man. I love sites like that!

romoses4, Thanks for your mph references...I gotta tell ya tho, the only way I'd be driving either of the two cars you mentioned would be in video game. I'm one of those guys you see on the freeway driving a $1,500 Truck with a $10,000 toy (atv, utv, bike, sled, jet ski...etc) in back of it.

this f4i is my first sport bike. It came w/ this monster sprocket so I have no idea what a stock geared f4i is like. I only wanna drop the $$$ on quality chain and sprocket set one time. I really appreciate everyone's help with this and I'm gonna order something today or tomorrow.

My f4i has had stock gearing its entire life, and after 7yrs and 65K+ miles I still get off thinking how amazing this bike is.

i have a -1 front for a while now and i actually hate it. the reason i do not want to replace it is because i want to get a full life out of both sprockets and chain. if i were to replace only the front i would feel like i would have wasted some of its life because of premature wear (old chain new sprocket)

I just grabbed a 46T vortex for now...for the $28 I dropped on it, I figure if I end up hating it I'll just use it as giant Chinese star and be happy. I have a chain breaker and done that deal before. I just really wanna check the stocker feel and go from there.
