WHOA those ones that are too good to be true look legit, but hes gonna email you talking about the bike is here and hes way over here or out of the country but the bike is at a 3rd party shipping company and they will deliver the bike free its included in the price then the shipping company holds it in escrow and you have 7 days to see if you like the bike, if you do they will release the funds to the seller..THIS IS A SCAM...be very careful......keep looking on craigslist, email the people and make an offer on the bikes just out of your price range 75% of the time they will lower their price....unfortunately your financing and cash talks especially in negotiating a price....and like they said don't settle for a bike or you will just have it for a little while and want somthing else and you will be stuck with it since your financing it so you would probably owe more than it is worth. I know you have heard it one hundred times but just be patient.

Yea when I was looking for mine I came across that scam alot, some will just email you what I stated previously and then 2 or 3 told me what you just said...I got numerous pics of the bike and blah blah they still got it, then once you reply back is when they are all of a sudden not there but the bike is somewhere else...Im not trying to shoot your hopes down, just if a deal is too good to be true usually it is.....check vin, inspect bike to see if it was ever crashed, make sure title is clear and not a salvage title.....inspect and see if the instrument cluster bolts look like they have ever been taken off ( a bike with 50,000 miles with a new instrument cluster could be worth alot of money with a new cluster that says 4,000miles) it's a shame to say it but you have to be extremely leary when purchasing a bike from a independent person, I'm leary buying somthing from the dealer sometimes...then again maybe Im just paranoid ....goodluck though hopefully deal turns out to be legit for you

There sure are a lot of scams out there. Same story everywhere, price too good to miss, bike in perfect condition. Suddenly owner is out of country in the uk on business or posted to Iraq, but wife has bike. She'll ship thru escrow coy(of their own choice) when payment comes thru. Next thing, seller will not give you vin so that it is not mis-used... lol. And then less and less info comes in aside from urging you to pay quick or lose a good deal.

I eventually waited till i could afford what i wanted, gotbike from a dealer, cost a premium more, bike was perfect and in condition as stated. Peace of mind for seller and buyer.

My advise is don't hurry, seek what you want, don't compromise for another bike type and INSPECT the bike physically, avoid bogus 3rd party groups. If you are under pressure you are likely to be ripped off with either a lemon or no bike at all.
