Default Starts but won't go into gear

So I finally got my recently purchased 05 F4i started, and then I go to put it into first with the clutch handle pulled tight to the grip, and it slams into gear and stalls instantly. So I'm thinking that the clutch is just not disengaging. But I'm not sure why. I adjusted the clutch cable to pull as far as it could and exactly the same thing happened. So for some other reason the clutch isn't disengaging. The bike was downed and took some significant damage before I bought it. Any ideas? I'll prob end up taking the clutch apart and looking for broken stuff, but of course I'd rather not. Any input would be great. Thanks.

Thumbs up steve. 1st problem out of the way. Make sure youinvest in somegood riding gear, you need all the protection you can get.Take is slow, don't rush it and be alert when you ride.

No matter newb or not everyone forgets about their kikstand every once in a while. Its just a matter of time before you stall it with the stand down only thing is make sure ur alone when you do it.
