If I really like it, I'll put all new plastics on it, it looks ok, but would look really good with new plastics. So no fuel gauge until reserve? IDK what kind of gas miles it gets. I'll be taking it to Colorado in July to run some roads up there, I have 3 other bikes, 2 BMWs and a Honda 250 scooter, plus an older Goldwing project with a sidecar.
On mine the reserve display lights up about 220 km after filling.. 135 miles. Then 4 bars light up on the reserve indicator, then they go off progressively over the next few miles. I've never gone more than 25 miles past 4 bars. For all I know it will go further.. the previous owner said it would do 300 km on a tank, but that was while he was pitching the bike to me
@sandsman - Congrats on the restoration! If you decide to get new fairings, would love an update on whose you go with and how they work out!
As for gas mileage, I average about 40 mpg with little throttle control, about 45 if I'm being "responsible". My reserve lights start flashing with a little over a gallon left and I've gone 30-35 miles after that. Having it blinking at you makes the ride more... interesting! lol.

Yeah I also get around 39 to 42 mpg.

It sure gets my attention
I've never emptied the tank, so don't really know how far it would go. May try it one day, strap a jerrycan on the back.
The only time time I waited til all the bars were blinking on the reserve display, it took 14 litres, but the book says the tank is 18 litres so I'm wondering if there's more after the reserve movie finishes playing.
Much later: I did run it dry. The engine started missing at 301 km, so I stopped and poured in the "reserve reserve" fuel that I had ready. No ill effects.
This was "normal" highway riding - not fanging it - with a few suburban miles.
So my result is this: the Fuel Reserve movie starts blinking about 210 or 220 km. All its bars have gone out by about 260 km: it keeps blinking but the bike runs until 300 km.

Yeah, I think so. Pretty sure I wrote it down somewhere in my log and will post it up if I find it!
Edit: First, overestimated my overall mpg! Most rides are around 37-38 with heavy acceleration, but have gone as high as 48-50, when riding areas like Skyline Drive where speed limit is 35 and I try to stay around 50 mph. Second, when ALL the bars start blinking, I'm just under a gallon...
