Making progress. Haven't had a chance to stop by the store to look at the racket wrap but did have some old bicycle handlebar tape at home. Wrapped my throttle grip to a diameter of 1.5" and covered with yellow plastic electrical tape to seal (color coordination with the yellow bike being so important). The larger diameter is a noticeable improvement in comfort and actually helped a small amount in throttle control. Next step is to do some contouring for additional pressure relief.

I like the tennis racket wrap idea for thickness. Not sure about the electrical tape though. I would think eventually the sun and heat will make the tape glue ooze all over your gloves, Just a thought.

I got a throttle rocker from ebay for a few bucks and it makes a HUGE difference for any 20+ minute ride as far as wrist comfort. I consider it a "Must Have" and I don't suffer from any nerve damage. The rocker can be removed/installed in seconds and is universal to fit any grip size.

The electrical tape is temporary while I work with the grip profile, not only does it seal but it also ensures the tape remains tightly wrapped. I agree, ooze could be a problem if left on for any length of time. Throttle rocker: that's certainly a possibility and for just a few bucks worth the try. Thanks

Certainly better looking then what I have now. I've still got to work with the diameter and profile of the grip to find what works best, at this point I wouldn't rule these out and the price is right. Thanks

It's been almost a week now and probably 10 hrs or so on the bike. I ultimately went with the racket wrap as suggested by coolbluedab (I even purchased it from Walmart). I chose the Wilson adhesive back ribbed wrap and made a one pass wrap across my throttle grip. Took a little while to adjust to the larger diameter but what a difference! Good grip feel, positive control, and better support. I can open my hand to relax it and still comfortably control the throttle. Thanks again to all those who posted.

Just glad to help out a fellow rider. Pass the knowledge around. It is a high comfort, high quality solution... for literally $2 instead of overpriced "motorcycle special etc" stuff. .... You could say it is the Rotella of grip solutions. :-)
