klean air mod and TB sync
so im planning to do the clean air mod and was wondering if it will affect syncing the throttle bodies in any way. i mean you do need to cover the reed air ducts in order to sync the TB correctly right? Also you no longer have that tube running from the air box so....idk
i also have a cali evap system. is it neccessary to plug all those holes leading to the canister for the syncing?

any added emissions i can't help you with, and if by clean air you mean bypassing the clean air that is thrown into your exhaust from the airbox, (stunters do this so oil doesnt go into the airbox, and to get a proper air fuel ratio reading you have to do this or pinch those lines so clean air isnt put into the exhaust) all i know is you can remove the reed parts keeping the holey thing with the gasket/ring/whatever around it, but if you have luck like me, trying to remove the reed will snap it in half.. so what i did was, remove the reed and thing with holes and still use block off plates except i used hondabond to form a gasket around teh WHOLE perimeter. instead of using the existing whatchamacallem's with the reeds removed.
a decent block off plate will come with all the plugs you need. or if you are doing it the way where you just plug all teh hoses together then you don't have to worry about anything i guess. as for syncing the throttle bodies i don't see the problem with just syncing them, and if im not mistaken its only for around idle rpms anyways.
bottom line, do what you want with your clean air mod, the non cali model doesnt trip any FI code when you do it, then do the body sync.
or crank it and see if it throws a code, then find out if you need to put a resitor around it and so on, then sync it.. but sync it after the mod but im not sure that even maters myself

yea i plan to plug all the hoses together. i am doing this because i hear you will increased power in the lower rpms..so i wanted to test this myself and if i feel no difference than it is easy to simply revert back to original. yea and im still not sure whether i should sync it after or before.. thanks for the input though.
