Hey so I acquired a 2002 F4i this passed spring 2023. It’s been through the wringer with the previous owner. Having a hard time with finding parts unless I’m looking wrong. Worth keeping around or sell for something newer? Thanks guys!

Welcome to the forum Robert95.
I suppose as always it depends!!!
The F4i is a fabulous machine and there should be plenty of spares around as it was a big seller and the majority of parts are still available.
Give us some more details of the sort of things that you might need so we can have a much more informed debate on the topic. Pics always help as well along with how many miles etc..
Cheers
Al

The rear shock was my main one. I was looking for rebuilds on it and I could t find anything. It’s really soft. And I’m not sure maybe the oil in it is bad either but looking up upgrades for it I couldn’t find anything. It’s not damaged at all but it’s old for sure.

First, make sure you don't have lowering-links (dogbones) installed on your bike. Part of lowering feature is reducing leverage-ratio of linkage and lets bike sink more for same weight. But this also softens shock throughout entire travel as well. Replace with stock dogbones if not stock.

Trick to finding new & used parts for older bikes is to get part# first.

Then search for that part# 52400-MBW-E11. Lots of vendors only go by part# since they don't know exactly which models part actually fits. Plenty of parts available for CBR600F4i. Maybe start with cheap stock shock and see if it's in better shape than yours.

Frequently all that's needed is to replace spring with stiffer one.

If you're looking for better-than-stock specs, can always send to Jamie at Dougherty Motorsports for rebuild and upgraded valving.

Or rebuild and customise it yourself.
