HRC Forks
well you know hrc is honda racing corporation right? their forks are just upgraded showas pretty much, so yeah itll be an upgrade plus i think theyre a lot cheaper than ohlins forks. If you rebuilt yours with racetech springs and ohlins valves or something it might be a better suspension. But as with any part if you dont have it tuned and set properly its worthless. A stock suspension thats properly set is more effective than you just slapping on $2000 forks and calling it a day.
I did not know HRC made forks for the F4i, where did you find them? And how much are they? Chances are a 25mm cartridge kit would do as much for you as aftermarket forks.
I was just curios because i hadn't heard of anything HRC for the f4i before. BTW i am familiar with Honda Racing Corporation. I was just perusing craigslist and found this post. I recently had a little spill on my f4i, where it slide into a guard rail at ~15-25mph and i'm not sure if the forks will need to be replaced or not. Haven't had a chance to take it to my mechanic. My bike has around 27k and was planning on doing a rebuild when i got a chance, not that i've had any problems with the front or anything i got the suspension tuned for my weight and it feels great. Changing the fork oil, etc. is just something that's been on my to do list.
Just re-read the post says 600rr, so my bad, but anyone know if a swap would be possible?
Forks came of a 2003 / 2004 Honda CBR600rr, may fit other models but I am not sure.
1st set (the ones in bubble wrap, also pic with red fork cap) are Factory Showa HRC kit forks in great condition. Same ones Team Honda ran in 03-04, amazing stuff. retailed for $2000. Fork has trick coatings inside as well as HRC's trick materials and valving.
2nd set are the original ones that came of the bike, fully stock OEM forks in great condition
HRC set $500
OEM set $250

People like you who give advise on what they know nothing about are a waste of air.
I did it for my race f4i before I did it to my street f4i and because of the results I got on the track I did my streeter. Apart from just feeling alot better I shaved seconds off my best times on every track I rode as a result. I use gps lap timing and overlapping old race results over those straight after I did the conversion my corner speed was higher and I was braking later.
It is deffinately worth doing
