Default How to fix crack?

I'm so mad. I went to install my undertail tonight and I slightly cracked the cowl just above the passenger foot peg. It is very small and kinda underneath. It only comes up the side about 1/4". What is the best way to mend back together?

Thanks Joe

A sticker -- ya know like a Joe Rocket or 2Bros Exhaust. I don't know of a product that will mend our plastics to the degree where you wouldn't be able to notice so my solution has always been the sticker method or if it's a really bad crack replace the piece.

If you can get the part off and get to the back side of it, you can buy a fiberglass kit at your local Wal mart, just mix it up and apply a couple layers of fiberglass, should be stronger than before, this stuff works great on ATV fenders so it should fix that crack right up!

If you attempt to repair using fiberglass resin or epoxy make sure to drill a hole (1/8") at each end of the crack -- this will stop it from spreading after the repair. I personally haven't had much success with cracks on bike plastics -- but mine are usually on a stressed part. The undertail should be fairly stress free so I hope it mends well for you. Let us know what you use and how it turns out.
